So, how can you use your Bilt Mastercard® for rent, even when your landlord doesn’t accept credit cards, and how can you avoid transaction fees? Let’s walk through this guide step by step.
You can pay your rent and earn points using the Bilt Mastercard, and the best part is that there are no usual transaction fees. Even if your apartment isn’t part of the Bilt Rewards Alliance, you can still use your Bilt Mastercard to pay rent and earn points without fees, as long as your landlord accepts online payments or checks.
Paying Rent Online
You can pay rent with your Bilt Mastercard online through an existing portal or to any landlord who accepts ACH payments. Bilt also supports rent payments through Venmo and PayPal, but please note that Zelle and direct bank transfers are not supported.
All Bilt Mastercard holders have access to a “Pay Rent Online” option, known as a Bilt Rent Account, through the Bilt Rewards app or website. Bilt provides a unique account and routing number for your property’s residential online portal. When you use these numbers for rent payments, your Bilt Mastercard is charged for the same amount, allowing you to earn points without incurring transaction fees.
To avoid fees:
For Bilt Alliance Residents: You can pay rent with your Bilt Mastercard directly through the Bilt Rewards app or website. The transaction fee will be waived for you.
For Non-Bilt Alliance Residents:
Add your Bilt Mastercard as a payment method in your online rent payment portal:
Log in to your residential portal and go to the “Select a Payment Method” section.
Choose “Add Payment Account” and select “E-Check” or “ACH” as the payment type. DO NOT select the credit card option to avoid transaction fees.

To find the routing and account numbers specific to your Bilt Rent Account, go to the “Pay Rent” section in the Bilt Rewards app or website, then select the option “Pay rent online” and click on “Show” next to the Routing and Account Numbers. These numbers function like a standard bank account. They can be used as a payment method (ACH or eCheck) in your residential portal.

Bank Account Verification:
